COTTAGE GROUNDS

PATIO

A spacious south-facing patio is accessed via a huge, no-step, sliding door from the main living space.  With table, chairs, sun-shade,  barbecue and stunning views to the distant Kilpatrick Hills

GARDEN AND HERB PATCH

The Cottage is set in its own garden - laid to grass with rockeries and hedges.  There is also a herb garden which guests are welcome to make use of.

PARKING AND EV CHARGER

Ample parking for four cars - and a trailer if required!  There is a Type 2 Electric Vehicle charger for guest's use.  

Perfect location

Appletree Cottage is situated on a quiet back road with only occasional traffic and the odd farm vehicle.  However Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh are all easily accessible from this ideal location.  Perfectly positioned for exploring the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

wonderful WILDLIFE

During your stay you may spot roe deer, pheasants, rabbits, hares and the occasional hedgehog!  Previous guests have spotted over 40 species of bird including local Ospreys.

stunning VEIWS

Set on raised ground, Appletree Cottage commands fantastic views over open countryside to the south.  The famous Whangy rock formation can be spotted in  Kilpatrick Hills three miles away.

Tranquil setting

Appletree is surrounded by open fields, populated by sheep and cattle.  It is the ideal place to relax and dream.  Perfect for that special holiday.  Great cycling and walking on the quiet back roads.

In Croftamie, a short walk away, a warm welcome awaits you at the But & Ben café-bistro.  This excellent licenced restaurant is open daily and at weekend evenings.  Highly recommended!

THE CLACHAN

The oldest pub in Scotland (licensed in 1732) is a great place to meet and dine. Excellent food is served in the cosy dining room.  Booking for this nearby popular venue is advised.

THE Drymen Inn

A popular bar serves a pub style menu and offers occasional live music evenings.

THE OLD MILL

A short drive to Killearn will take you to this cosy former mill.  A yurt at the back can be booked for larger parties.  Real ales on tap with an annual beer festival.
